As the weather finally embraces the warmth of spring and summer, my thoughts naturally turn to outdoor living. Our new home boasts an incredible feature – a sprawling deck in the backyard that holds immense potential. However, it’s a diamond in the rough, having endured several years of neglect. Currently, it presents a rather forlorn picture, patiently waiting for its much-deserved transformation.

This space, once home to a hot tub, now simply yearns for some tender loving care. While a complete wood refinishing project is definitely on our agenda for later this summer, I’m unwilling to postpone enjoying this fantastic space. The prospect of waiting for a massive renovation project to conclude before we can truly live in our backyard seems counterproductive. Therefore, I’m forging ahead with the exciting part: decorating and infusing the space with beauty and charm, leaving the heavier labor for a future date.
